Community Support Session – June 18 at AYR Motor Centre

In the wake of the tragic incident that occurred at Connell Park Raceway, the Town of Woodstock is offering a community support session for anyone who may be impacted.

We recognize that events like this effect people in different ways. Whether you were in attendance, volunteered, helped organize, had a child or loved one there, or are feeling affected due to past trauma or personal experiences, you are not alone—and support is available.

6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Mental health professionals and support staff will be available for individual and group conversations. Information and take-home resources will be available to guide those who may wish to access additional support services in the days and weeks ahead. Light refreshments will be served.

This session is open to all members of the public. It’s a space to connect, reflect, and support one another as we begin to process this difficult event together.

Town of Woodstock Statement and Community Support Resources

The Town of Woodstock is deeply saddened by the tragic accident that occurred at Connell Park Raceway during the opening day of the harness racing season this past Saturday, June 14th.  What began as a beautiful day of tradition and community gathering, quickly turned into an unimaginable tragedy which resulted in the heartbreaking loss of life a young child in attendance. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the family, friends, and all those affected.

As longtime hosts of a harness racing track in New Brunswick, this event has touched our entire community in a profound way. In response, the Town is coordinating efforts with crisis intervention healthcare providers from the Province of New Brunswick to offer support services by a dedicated team of mental health professionals for those impacted.

More information on support services will be shared on the Town's website and social media pages as it becomes available.
