ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)

On May 13 & May 14th, 2019, from 8:30 to 4:30 each day, the Woodstock Suicide Prevention Committee will be offering ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) to the public at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Conference room A, in Waterville, NB. The cost of the training is $70. for the two days, & the committee will provide nutrition breaks & cover the $2. cost of parking daily, for attendees. Lunch can be purchased by attendees at the hospital cafeteria or cafe. Please email woodstockspc@gmail.com to register for the training. Payment can be made by e-transfer to that email account, or by dropping off a cheque to the Woodstock Mental Health Clinic administration office, 200 King Street (Bicentennial Building, second floor), Woodstock, NB. Please contact by email so that your receipt will be available when the cheque is dropped off. Payment is due in advance to hold your seat, and seats are going quickly. ASIST is a two - day workshop in suicide intervention skills where participants learn and practice a life-saving intervention model. Studies show that ASIST participants gain: knowledge about suicide; skills to reach out; and the confidence to help save a life.
