Woodstock Police Force

Message from the Chief of Police

As I transition from Interim Chief of Police to Chief of Police for the Town of Woodstock, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the strength of this exceptional community, which is home to hardworking and compassionate citizens. I take great pride in my role in addressing the public safety needs of both residents and businesses.

My policing philosophy places a significant emphasis on collaborative problem-solving with our residents and community partners. The Police Force’s primary objectives are to preserve life, prevent crime, and enhance safety within the community, and the active participation of every resident is vital to that success. Woodstock has embraced this approach, with numerous individuals and businesses actively engaged in initiatives aimed at enhancing our town.

The strength of our Police Department is intrinsically tied to the dedication of its officers and civilian staff. Woodstock is fortunate to have some of the most outstanding public servants in the province of New Brunswick. Through the dedication and hard work of all involved, we will persist in our endeavors to ensure the safety of families, businesses, and visitors within the Town of Woodstock.

Thank you,

Mark Bennett
Chief of Police

Expansion - 2027

In 2027 the Woodstock Police Force will be expanding into the outer Wards. This initiative cam as part of the amalgamation that occurred in Municipalities across New Brunswick in 2023. Since then, the Police Force and Local Government have been working together to devise a plan on what this would look like and making the necessary upgrades to facilitate this growth.

The first of two phases of expansion will take place soon with phase 1, expanding over to Ward 5 beginning on January 14th 2027.

Phase 2 which will expand into wards 1-3 is expected to launch in July of 2027, these dates will be communicated closer to the time.

So, what does this mean for you? If you reside in Ward 5, you will notice increased police presence patrolling your community and ensuring your safety. This is a great opportunity for you to get to know your community police officers and build trusting relationships, allowing you to share your concerns with them.
Wondering what ward you reside in? You can find out by visiting: https://woodstocknb.ca/wards

Additionally, after each phase, residents who need to complete a Criminal Record Check or Vulnerable Sector Check, can simply visit the Woodstock Police Force website and complete an online form. Ward 4 residents can continue to retrieve their documents this way as they have done in the past. Go to: https://woodstockpoliceforce.ca/

We’re excited to expand our policing services and serve all Woodstock residents!
