20th century music that covers a wide variety of styles, ranging from Classical, to Operetta & European Salon music, to Tango, and Musical Theater, to Popular & World music.
Performers are: Ypie Shaver on violin, Martin Shaver on cello, and Marjorie Hewson on Piano.
Tickets $25 each at the Door. Cash Bar (Wine & Beer). Light Refreshments. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
Fundraiser to build additional Exhibit Space at Connell House.
Artist Biographies:
Ypie Shaver
Ypie Shaver was born in the Netherlands where she received her professional training as a violin /viola pedagogue and performer. With her Canadian husband she moved to Canada in 1990 to St-Thomas, Ontario and began teaching at Alma College Music Academy and performing with Orchestra London. During this time she specialized in producing and performing a series of educational concerts in numerous elementary schools throughout the region. Upon moving to New Brunswick in 1997 with her family, she built a thriving private teaching studio, developed a violin program in local elementary schools and performs frequently in her community.
Martin Shaver
Originally from St. Thomas, Ontario, Martin obtained his Bachelor degree in music performance at U of T and his Master’s degree at UWO. In addition to many years of performing with various symphony orchestras, he is a consummate chamber music performer who enjoys exploring a wide variety of music styles.
Marjorie Hewson
Originally from Woodstock, NB, pianist Marjorie Hewson completed a piano performance degree at Gordon College in Massachusetts, and Kodaly studies at U of Calgary. She teaches locally, Grade 2 and Music. Marjorie’s vast experience as a pianist includes: solo and chamber music performances, collaborative pianist and private studio piano teacher.
