The Town of Woodstock Recreation Department is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and community-focused Swim Instructor/Lifeguards to join our team. If you are passionate about water safety, enjoy working with people of all ages, and want to help create memorable experiences at our aquatic facilities, we want to hear from you!

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer swim programs in accordance with the Lifesaving Society to school age children, as well as occasional private lessons to children and adults.
  • Ensure all administrative requirements are complete in a timely manner including lesson planning and evaluations.
  • Assist with planning and organizing day-time pool activities and programs in consultation with the Aquatics Supervisor.
  • Adhere to all safety and cleaning protocols for the aquatic facility, in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Assuming other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold Bronze Cross Certification (current or expired); or strong swim skills including ability to swim 400 meters.
  • Willingness and commitment to attain Swim Instructor and Nationals Certification.
  • Previous teaching/leadership experience, in particular with children, would be an asset.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
