Canada Day Street Closures, Parking, Traffic

Street Closure Notice for Canada Day Celebrations

Dear Residents and Visitors,

In preparation for the upcoming Canada Day celebrations, the Town of Woodstock would like to inform you about streets closure, parking and foot traffic that will be in effect to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Closure Details

Water Street

  • This street will be closed to through traffic after Woodstock Elks from Monday, June 30th to Wednesday, July 2.  This will be a viewing area with bleachers to watch the dragon boat races.

Carleton Street

  • This street will be closed from 4 pm-6 pm to traffic for the Royal Canadian Legion fundraiser of 50/50 ball drop.

Limited Parking Lots

These parking spaces will be ONLY for those with limited mobility from 8 am-10 pm.

Parking Lots

The following are available for public parking:

  • Richmond Street
  • Maple Street
  • Emerald Street
  • Chapel Street
  • Main Street

When parking only use the space, you require.  If you are a larger vehicle, please park between the lines.

Boat Traffic

If you are in a motorized boat on Canada Day, we ask that you avoid the Meduxnekeag River from 9 am-6 pm, as this is where the boat races will be taking place.

Pedestrians

When walking downtown, use the marked crosswalks.  When crossing on Main and King, obey the traffic lights.  Please do not cross Main Street after the bridge by Scotiabank.  Use the crosswalk between The River Restaurant & Scotiabank to cross Main Street.

We ask that all drivers use extra caution when driving in the downtown area.

Join us for a day filled with fun activities, live music, delicious food, and an unforgettable fireworks display!
