What items are not collected?

The following items are not collected:

• Hot Ashes: Be sure to let ashes cool for several days before bagging it and putting it in your garbage. Alternatively, add cooled ashes to your home compost or use it to melt ice or create traction on driveways and sidewalks.  
• Household Furniture and Furnishings: Donate gently used furniture or furnishings to a local charitable organization, contact a furniture store to see if they recycle, or bring the furniture or furnishings to the Southern Valley Transfer Station for disposal.  
• Construction and Demolition Debris: Bring your debris to the Southern Valley Transfer Station for disposal.
• Batteries: Visit Recycling for information on proper disposal.
• Hazardous Waste: Visit Hazardous Waste for information on proper disposal.
