Mural-King Street

Tourism
119 King St, Woodstock, NBĀ

Bright, imaginative, and full of local storytelling, the King Street Mural by Andrew Walton adds colour and creativity to downtown Woodstock. Stretching approximately 35 feet across a building wall on King Street, this mural blends history, community memories, and a touch of playful imagination.

The scene highlights Woodstock’s former Island Park, once a lively gathering place known for its Old Home Week celebrations. Visitors can spot the unique “crazy bridge” that once connected the mainland to the island, along with festive elements that capture the excitement and spirit of those community events. A brightly coloured moose and oversized fiddleheads—symbols often associated with New Brunswick’s natural landscape—add a whimsical and eye-catching touch to the piece.

Four years after completing the original Moose, River, and Park Island mural, Walton returned to expand the story with a creative new addition. In a playful twist, a balloon drifting from Park Island floats into the sky where it is caught by a curious astronaut, blending Woodstock’s local heritage with a sense of wonder and imagination.

Together, the mural celebrates Woodstock’s past while inviting viewers to look a little closer, discover the details, and enjoy a moment of creativity in the heart of the community.
