Call for Woodstock Public Library Board Members

Woodstock, NB — Woodstock is seeking candidates to serve on its Public Library Board. The goals and objectives of the Library are to promote and advocate for equitable access to quality public library service; to act as a fiduciary for the funds and property used for the library’s operations and to decide on policies concerning the library while respecting the New Brunswick Public Libraries Act. The Public Library Board is comprised of nine voting members, appointed by the Municipality.  

Regular meetings of the Board are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30pm at the Library.

What Makes a Good Library Board Member?

Most importantly, Board members must be passionate about the Library and the community, and willing to advocate on behalf of the Library. As a Board member, you have good communication skills, diverse interests and skills, and you're willing to work as a member of a team committed to community service. You're also ready to learn about public library issues.

Any selected candidate will be the object of a recommendation to Council who, as the competent authority, will make the final decision regarding his or her appointment, as the case may be.
