Voyent Alert! Communications System
The Town of Woodstock is moving to a new, community alert system to help residents stay up-to-date about important notices, and be informed of emergency safety precautions. This iniative is being led by the Western New Brunswick Regional Service Commission, and all other municipalities across Western New Brunswick are also implementing the use of the app in their communications strategies.
In partnership with the Western New Brunswick Regional Commission, the Town of Woodstock is implementing a new alert system to help keep residents informed on a variety of topics. This initiative was a part of the Town's 2026 Strategic Plan to improve communications efficiency and effectiveness, in efforts to enhance Community Engagement and Safety. Upon registering, residents can subscribe to several topics where they can be informed on:
- Planned Road Work
- Emergency Utility Repairs
- Critical Alerts
- Boil Water Advisories
- Council Updates
- Important Community News
- Garbage notices
How can you benefit from using Voyent?
The app is very user-friendly, allowing residents complete control over what and how they are notified, all while keeping their personal details safe and secure. The Voyent Alert app also allows residents to:
- Register on your mobile device, without an email or password
- Register multiple important-to-you locations so you get notified about things happening around you and those you love. As well as your home, you can add work, school and Mom & Dads house so you always stay informed.
- Subscribe and un-subscribe to topics at any time. You control what you want to be notified about.
- Choose how and if you want to be notified for each and every topic, determine which of your saved locations receive topic notices, and choose how you want to be notified (Call, Text, App notification or Email)
- During critical events, the system can ask if you need assistance, depending on your response, we will send emergency help to your location.
- Your information is kept private and secure and is only used to deliver the alerts you select.
The Town of Woodstock aims to register 80% of households in all 5 wards by the end of 2026. It is recommended that every adult in each household be registered for the initiative to be effective in notifying each of its residents, whether they are at home, at work, or anywhere in between.
