Woodstock Adopts 2026 Budget
Council has approved the Town of Woodstock’s 2026 Budget, focused on maintaining strong services, supporting community needs, and continuing smart long-term planning. You can review the detailed report here: 2026 Budget
Key Highlights:
- General Operating Budget: $21M
- Utility Budget: $2.33M
- Ward 4 tax rate: No change (remains $1.50)
- Wards 1,2,3 & 5: 2-cent increase to support upgraded solid waste service and RCMP cost increases
- Province’s 2026 assessment freeze means most property values stay at 2025 levels
- Policing Realignment Funds ($1.65M) help offset 2026 policing cost increases to prepare for realignment from RCMP services to WPF by January of 2028
- Weekly year-round garbage pickup begins July 2026, with recycling every second week
- Approx. $2.5M in capital investments, including paving, Active Transportation upgrades, downtown enhancements, AYR Motor Centre improvements
- Over $1M planned inkey water/sewer infrastructure projects
Utility flat-rate fees will adjust in 2026, effective with the June invoice, and payment plans remain available for any resident who needs them, as well as a discount for those that qualify for low-income support.
