AYR Motor Centre, Woodstock, NB

The Town of Woodstock is recruiting to fill an existing vacancy within our aquatics facility at the AYR Motor Centre multiplex. We are looking for a motivated and energetic Aquatics Supervisor to lead and direct pool staff and oversee all daily operations and programs. The Aquatics Supervisor will work collaboratively with the Recreation and Community Services team to plan and assist with departmental programming and service delivery.

KEY SKILLS, RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lead, coach, and schedule lifeguards & instructors
  • Oversee daily pool operations & safety standards
  • Plan and deliver swim lessons & community programs
  • Step in as lifeguard or instructor when needed with availability to work occasional weekends, evenings and holidays based on operational demands
  • Ensure every patron has a safe, fun, and positive experience
  • Prior supervisory experience that involved leading and mentoring employees of varying ages is strongly preferred
  • A safety -first, customer-focused mindset with the ability to interact with the public with ease and confidence
  • Some post-secondary education in Recreation, Kinesiology, Sport Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
  • Required current certifications: National Lifeguard (Pool), Lifesaving Instructor, Swim Instructor (LSI and SI), Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (required)
  • First Aid Instructor, Lifesaving Instructor/Examiner considered strong assets; with a willingness to be trained accordingly
