How to run as a candidate
Residents who are interested in representing our community are encouraged to consider running for a role in our municipality. Have a meaningful role in making a difference and being the voice for residents. Woodstock Town Council is comprised of 8 Councillors, and 1 Mayor. As a member of Council, you will be responsible to serve not only your ward, but the entire community.
Responsibilities:
- Weekly or Bi-Weekly council meetings
- Set & review policies
- Pass By-Laws and Town Budgets
- Engage at community events
Eligibility to run:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- A Canadian Citizen
- Have lived or owned property in the municipality for at least 6 months prior to the election
- Not already in a government role
